Guy Fawkes 08, Food, Fun, Frozen MUD!
Rover Dog and I did not show up until Saturday. When we arrived the F250 tow rig got stuck in the driveway. I looked over at my Spotted friend and smiled, we where in for a good weekend. It took not 1 not 2 not 3 but 4 trucks to free the Lucky 8 tow rig. It was as my English friends say "slicker then duck snot"The boys that got there Friday found 8 inches of melting snow waiting for them, but they did not wait for us to get out and test there Rover might. That might was tested. After we freed the F250 and trailer and unloaded the Disco, Rover Dog had to strap on his spotted wrenches. 2 of the many D2s where down and out. Russ & Jenn's rig popped a steering box.
WHAT?
Yep I said a steering Box. I could not believe this either. Lucky for them Eric from AB was out testing his D110 some where in the mud. Eric found and arranged for the steering box to get in the hands of Russ. Many thanks to Eric forworking over time. Heather's D2 was in better shape with a blown front diff. She has a 04 with the locking diff so all we needed to do was pull the ring gear out so she could take that short 12 hr ride back to Michigan. Rover and I got to work pulling the CVs out followed by the front 3rd member. We pulled the ring gear and reinstalled all the parts. A quick side note about Heather. She is an A type and at one point we all most had to step outside to duke it out over who got turn the wrench's. I think I can take her

NOW Back to the MUD!
Howard the very generous man who lets us tear up his property says to me "hey check this out". If he says that to you do not follow him. A quick high 30 degree off camber truck twisting descent onto a pit of rocks and mud followed by a quick hill climb which lead you to theGULLY. The last time I went into the Gully I bent a track rod, roofrack, my roof, rear quarter panel, and spilled my coffee. With all the mud this year we had to tuck our tail between our legs and get winched out.
FIRE!!!!! Time
Howard has a fire you could park a disco in. It is BIG and HOT. This is my favorite part of the weekend. 1 side of your body is 20 degrees and the otherside is 120 degrees. So, fat on Free steaks from Keith the owner of Athol Motors in buffalo. We sat down next to the monster fire drank and became merry. The last thing I remember is Jerek's wife trying to trade me a horse cup for my Scotch filled Fuel mug.
MORNING
With a small head ache " OK big" we head down to the local diner for breakfast. Eat, drink lots of bad coffee, Load the truck, and go home. Can't wait for next year. Thank You Howard.
