On the desk today is an Ashcroft HD cross pin for the Lt230. The standard LT230's have a two-piece cross pin in the centre diff; this is two shafts with a cut out in the centre so they can overlap. This one piece cross pin which is much stronger.

This picture of a genuine Land Rover folding brush bar was sent in from Trevor at Rover lab. I have never seen one like this before. Thank you Trevor. Anyone in the PA looking for service or restoration give him a call at 717.367.0176

On the desk today is a Exmoor trim Defender front center seat. If you want to sit 3 across in the front this is the kit for you.

On the desk today is the new rear cones from Terrafirma. I am really happy with this new design. The cones are made from a hard plastic that will allow the spring to slide with very little resistance or noise. These will be on the L8 Tf D2 this weekend.

Everyone with a rear tire carrier should take a look behind the tire and make sure it does not look like this.

On the desk today is a RTE steering damper relocation kit for a D1 or RRC. This kit lets you move the damper from the low point on the longer steering bar to the shorter arm that comes off the steering box. The new location put the damper up out of harms way in the front.

On the desk today is the aftermath of a diff that was low on fluid. The pinion was starved for fluid. You can see the discoloration on the top. In other words this puppy got so hot it melted the bearings.

Looking back at on the desk in 2010. The post that received the most replies was on July 7th. We put up a picture of a possible new Logo and discussed Land Rovers concerns with the old logo.

Happy new year everyone! We know the owner of this truck will have a good night.

On the desk today is a Viking fairlead. These aluminum fairleads are designed specifically for synthetic winch lines. Notice the beautifully machined inside edges. This is to help reduce the strain on the line during side pulls.

In front of the desk today is a D90 hood with a spare tire kit. This hood is not the standard edition with 3 holes. On the other side it has been upgraded with extra plates to not only handle the weight of the tire but also hold it in place.

L8 TIP

When using your Rover to pull or push anything that is stuck like a friends truck in the snow. LOCK you transfer case. You do not need to be in low. The LT230 Tcase is pretty robust locked but when it is open you are shock loading the spider gears and they will fail on you.

On the desk today is L8's Xmass present from Mike W. Thank you Mike!!!!

Merry Christmas & happy holidays from everyone at Lucky8 to you and yours.

On the desk today is an adjustable Panhard bar from Terrafirma. The Panhard bar is what holds the front axle to its center point. As you lift the truck up the Panhard needs to be extended or it will pull the axle to the side and out of alignment

Just in from Uncle traveling Curt.

" We are starting to reassemble the engine now. I have had to replace the main bearings, the camshaft, the exhaust valves, the turbo core, front and rear engine oil seals, complete valve-lifters assembly, head gasket, exhaust gasket, oil pump gears,. Basically anything that moves…. I am still trying to figure out what as the cause of all this mess. Here is what I have come up with:
1) Mechanic who did the overhaul in Argentina may have installed something incorrectly in the process blocking a oil galley way.
2) When head gasket blew first time, the engine also over heated as a result – these two events may have wrecked the lubrication of my oil.
3) When mechanic who installed the second head gasket put it on incorrectly and 20L of water went into my oil system, the mechanic did not replace the oil, but only drained off the water.
Any thoughts?
I am hoping to have it running by Friday evening."
